“Recently, in our social studies ‘We Love Our Country’ unit, my first grade students were able to have fun identifying famous landmarks and symbols that represent the United States of America. When I was in first grade, I did not know the names of monuments in Washington D.C. [.blue-bold]Thanks to Quizizz, my students know the difference between the Capitol building and the White House![.blue-bold]”
“Quizizz has been [.yellow-bold]so deeply helpful[.yellow-bold] to my AP History classroom that [.yellow-bold]I cannot imagine teaching without it[.yellow-bold].”
“I had my students write questions for our Ancient China unit and I used those to create a Quizizz. They were [.red-bold]so jazzed to see their own questions![.red-bold] The ability to complete the activities multiple times also helps to [.red-bold]minimize test anxiety[.red-bold].”
“Quizizz is highly engaging and fun for my students. [.red-bold]Every one of our social studies units has a Quizizz created for the kids to use at home or at school.[.red-bold] They use it to review key points and prepare for the next lesson or assessment. My students even want to ‘play’ during inside recess, and I never say no to that!”
“[.purple-bold]I use Quizizz 3-4 times per week, sometimes daily.[.purple-bold] Here’s an example: I ran a Quizizz about Popular Sovereignty and the class averages ranged from 45-50%. Then we ran our lesson — students read about popular sovereignty, discussed, and summarized. Then we ran another Quizizz and [.purple-bold]raised our class averages to 85-98%. That's some great learning!![.purple-bold]”
“I used to do written notes on the board and occasionally did PowerPoint presentations. Those did not keep students engaged, it just kept them busy. [.purple-bold]With Quizizz, the students enjoy doing the lessons and my class engagement numbers have skyrocketed.[.purple-bold] For example, we were learning about World War II and my students got into a heated competition for the top 5 places on the Leaderboard. The kids were so engaged and so determined to pay attention to what I was teaching. [.purple-bold]Quizizz has been a game changer for me in my classroom.[.purple-bold]”
“History review can be tedious when we are learning a lot of new vocabulary. [.yellow-bold]Quizizz is a great tool to get practice on those words in a fun way.[.yellow-bold]”
“[.green-bold]As a history teacher, I need interactive ways to present the material so my students are engaged and participating. Quizizz provides so many options for doing quick check-ins with the kids during my lessons.[.green-bold] I like to use poll questions in the beginning to gain an idea of background knowledge or general opinions about the material. Throughout the lesson, I embed multiple choice questions for quick comprehension checks. When I want a deeper discussion and need to make sure every student is with me, I embed short response questions. The Draw Question tool is really awesome to have students illustrate a geographic feature or structure we talked about. After doing a Quizizz Lesson, I can use the Live Quiz feature and students love to see the results projected! They all compete to try to do their best. I also like to assign Quizizz Homework games for review. These are perfect for reinforcing vocabulary terms.”
The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
